My usual Music Monday post didn’t appear. I was busy with other things and didn’t realise I had nothing queued up ready to go. I’ll try to get back on schedule next week. In the meantime, here’s something from the Silk Road Ensemble. It’s a great mash-up of blues and klezmer music, with some other bits thrown in for good measure.

It seems to me quite appropriate to make such a mash-up, since the song has been through many transformations from its original source as an English folk song. Klezmer too incorporates many influences from the Middle East to Jazz.
